Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 14, 2026
Star Cycle Inc (“Star Cycle,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) runs this website at starcycleinc.com. We’re a motorcycle, ATV and UTV sales and service shop at 247 Ram Loop in Stokesdale, North Carolina.
This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. We’ve tried to write it in plain English instead of legal boilerplate. If something here isn’t clear, call us at 336-427-7827 and ask.
Information We Collect
Information you give us
When you fill out a form on this site — a service request, a parts request, a motorcycle inquiry, a financing question or a general contact message — we collect what you type into it. Depending on the form, that includes:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- Details about your machine (vehicle type, year, make, model)
- What service you need, or a description of the problem
- Any other information you choose to include in the message field
We also collect information you give us over the phone, by text, by email, or in person at the shop, and we may keep records of the work we’ve done on your machine.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this site automatically collects some technical information when you visit:
- Your IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages you viewed and how long you spent on them
- The website or search that referred you here
- Date and time of your visit
Some of this comes from standard web server logs kept by our hosting provider. Some comes from cookies and similar technologies, described below.
Information from other sources
We may see information about you from third-party platforms, including reviews you post publicly on Google or Facebook, and messages you send us through social media. If you apply for financing, our lending partner collects information directly from you and handles it under their own privacy policy.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. This site uses:
- Essential cookies. Required for the site to work — things like page navigation, security, and remembering form input. These can’t be turned off without breaking the site.
- Analytics cookies. These help us understand how people find and use the site so we can improve it — which pages get visited, how long people stay, which links get clicked. We look at this in aggregate, not to identify individual visitors.
- Advertising cookies. These may be set by advertising platforms so we can measure ad performance and show ads to people who’ve visited the site.
Your choices. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your service requests, parts requests, sales inquiries and general questions
- Schedule and perform work on your machine, and contact you about that work
- Order parts and confirm fitment for your specific machine
- Send you estimates, invoices and receipts
- Answer financing questions and direct you to our lending partner’s secure application
- Keep records of past service so we can help you better next time
- Understand how the website is used and improve it
- Protect the site against spam, fraud and abuse
- Meet our legal, tax and recordkeeping obligations
Calls, Texts and Email
When you submit a form and check the consent box, you’re agreeing that we may contact you about that request by phone, text message or email. We use your contact information to follow up on what you asked about — confirming appointments, giving you estimates, letting you know your machine is ready, or answering your question.
Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply to text messages. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time by replying STOP to a text, or by calling 336-427-7827 or emailing us at the address at the bottom of this page.
If we send you promotional messages about sales, new inventory or shop events, we’ll only do that if you’ve agreed to receive them, and every message will include a way to opt out.
Sensitive Information — Please Don’t Send It Through This Website
Never submit Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, credit or debit card numbers, driver’s license numbers or other sensitive financial information through a form on this website. Our website forms are not built for that, and we don’t ask for it.
If you’re applying for financing, you’ll enter that information directly into our lending partner’s own secure application, not into a form here. If you need to give us payment information, we’ll handle that in person or over the phone.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t rent or trade it to anyone for their own marketing.
We share information only in these situations:
- Service providers who help us run the business. This includes our web hosting company, our email provider, the form and website software we use, and any analytics provider, e.g. Google Analytics. They only get what they need to do their job, and they’re not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Our financing partner. If you ask about or apply for financing, information you provide goes to Freedom Road Financial, who handles it under their own privacy policy.
- Parts suppliers and manufacturers. When we order a part or handle a warranty claim, we may need to share your machine’s information — and sometimes your name and contact information — with the supplier or manufacturer.
- When the law requires it. We’ll share information if we’re required to by law, subpoena or court order, or where we believe it’s necessary to protect our rights, our property, or someone’s safety.
- If the business changes hands. If Star Cycle is ever sold, merged or transferred, customer information may transfer as part of that.
How Long We Keep It
We keep customer and service records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet our legal, tax and warranty obligations. Website form submissions are retained for a retention period of at least 24 months.
If you’d like us to delete information we hold about you, contact us and we’ll do what we can, keeping in mind that some records we’re required to hold onto.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including using a secured (HTTPS) website connection and limiting who at the shop can access customer records. That said, no website or method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security. This is part of why we ask you not to send sensitive financial information through this site.
Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- Ask what we have. Contact us and we’ll tell you what information we hold about you.
- Correct it. If something’s wrong, let us know and we’ll fix it.
- Ask us to delete it. We’ll delete what we’re able to, subject to records we’re legally required to keep.
- Stop hearing from us. Reply STOP to a text, or contact us and ask to be removed from calls, texts or emails.
- Control cookies. Through your browser settings, as described above.
Depending on where you live, state law may give you additional rights regarding your personal information. If you’d like to exercise any right available to you, contact us using the information below and we’ll respond as required by applicable law. We won’t discriminate against you for making a request.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. There’s currently no common industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, and this website does not respond to or may respond differently when a DNT signal is present. If that changes, we’ll update this policy.
Children’s Privacy
This website isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to other websites — Sherco, our financing partner(s), Google Maps, our social media pages, and others. We’re not responsible for how those sites handle your information. Their privacy policies apply when you’re on their site, not ours.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. If we make a significant change to how we handle your information, we’ll make that clear on this page.
